I like nice hotels. I just do. I always have and I surely don’t plan on changing my ways anytime soon. I sure did find a good one when I found The Redmont in Birmingham, Alabama. The Redmond is a Hilton Curio Collection Hotel. It is conveniently located in downtown Birmingham on Fifth Avenue North.
My daughter and I traveled to Birmingham to see Alton Brown Live and decided that we would rather stay the night than to travel back to Atlanta after the show. I love to research hotels to make sure that I’m getting the nicest hotel possible for the money.
I was so excited to find The Redmont was reasonably priced yet so much better than other hotels in the same price point. Since it is a Hilton Hotel I was able to use the Hilton app and collect Hilton Honors points for my stay.
The Redmont offers valet parking. We just used Uber to get to the show and back. It was perfect.
This was the first time that I used the digital hotel key with the Hilton app and it is wonderful. I checked in the day before using the app. I was able to pick which room I wanted. I love that feature because I always want the highest floor possible. Since I was using the digital key there was absolutely no reason to stop at the front desk! I love it.
The lobby is stunning. The hotel is the oldest operating hotel in Alabama. It was renovated a few years ago and let me tell you they did a beautiful job.
On the second floor there is a beautiful balcony that I had to check out. I drive my daughter crazy but I just love old buildings and beautiful design. I have worked at an Architectural firm for 15 years so I get it honestly.
There is a ballroom on that level with beautiful sitting areas and an outdoor balcony. This would be a beautiful place for a wedding.
We had a two double beds oversized corner room. It was a beautiful room and they were not kidding when they said oversized.
The room was beautiful down to the very last detail!
Rose and I had way more than enough space! I wanted to stay longer to enjoy the room!
The bathroom was beautiful with so much natural light since it had a window in it also!
The hotel has 14 floors, we were on the 9th. The view is very nice.
The historic details in the hotel are lovely!
By now you guys know that we never miss a meal. Ever. Before the show we decided to have dinner at the hotel.
At this point it should be no surprise to you that I also thought the restaurant was beautiful.
After the show we decided to check out the roof top deck / bar in hopes of finding some dessert. We didn’t get dessert but the view is amazing.
Check out the walls! I love them so much. Even the restrooms on the roof level were amazing.
For breakfast you can get a quick pastry and drink at the Cafe in the lobby!
So. In conclusion. I’m a fan of the Redmont Hotel. In my opinion if you are visiting Birmingham you should stay there but only if you love great design and great service at a great price. Don’t think that I haven’t checked out the other Curio Collection hotels because I certainly have. I will be staying at more of them in the future!
