In May 2017, Princess Cruises relaunched the Caribbean Princess after an amazing makeover.
Did you know that Maritime law requires ships to dry dock every 5 years!
I recently heard that Princess spent 8.2 million dollars on the makeover of Caribbean Princesss! I have been on this ship, so was particularly interested in hearing about the changes that they made.
This ship originally was launched and christened in 2004 and has since travelled over a MILLION miles all over the world!
Camp Discovery Kid & Teen Centers
The kids club has gotten a lovely makeover.
The Princess Luxury Bed
Updated beds, Yes, please! Who doesn’t want to sleep on that? They commissioned a sleep expert and HGTV designer to design the ultimate bed!
Club Class Mini-Suites
They have added this premium state room category. Club Class passengers have an exclusive dining area wth expedited seating and expanded menu options and dedicated waitstaff. Wth this category of room you get priority embarkation and disembarkation.
Enhanced Movies Under the Stars
I have always loved the Movie Under the Stars and use it every time I cruise with Princess. They have now updated the screen and sound systems.
More Connecting Staterooms
Conneccting staterooms ar most of value for families or groups. This ship added 87 additional connecting rooms.
This update will get it’s own post eventually, a I want to try to understand it more myself! Stay tuned for details!
World Fresh Marketplace
World Fresh Marketplace is the new buffet! It sounds delightful! For breakfast they have a designer pancake station plus hot cereal selections. Lunch they feature sandwiches, and regionally inspired dishes, plus soups and a carvery! Dinner features breakfast for dinner options, Peanut Butter and Jelly bar, stir-fry and customized pasta!
The top-deck bar was updated as well.
On the top deck the pizzeria has been updated as well. They have deep dish pizza and Stromboli too! It appears, that you don’t pay extra for this!
Coffee & Cones
Complimentary ice cream cones on the top deck. Fancy ice cream sandwhiches are $3. They also offer various coffees and frappes for various prices, you can even add Bailey’s to your coffee for $1
Salty Dog Grill
Cruise Critic has voted the “Ernesto” burger a the number one burger at sea! Go to Salty Dog to get one. They have lots of burgers, dogs and even street tacos! I see that you pay for the “Ernesto” burger, but it is unclear if you have to pay for other items.
This is a family-style seafood that offers dinner for a nominal fee $12/person. They do have a breakfast and lunch buffet that you don’t pay extra for.
They have added this casual BBQ restaurant for a small fee ($12/person). They do offer breakfast as well, for no charge.
