I’m still writing about our summer road trip for a few reasons. One, because it was awesome. Two, because I wish I was still on the road trip! I could live on the road floating from one place to another and never having a “home”.
That being said, I sure wouldn’t mind spending a great portion of time in Flagstaff. I’ve been there previously and I’ve loved it. I couldn’t wait to visit again so that I could show my kids Northern Arizona.
The DoubleTree in Flagstaff is a great hotel! We had a great day on the road driving from Tucson through Phoenix, Prescott and Sedona.
When we arrived and walked into the warm and inviting lobby it was wonderful. The kids sat by the double-sided fireplace while I checked in.
The temperatures in Flagstaff are much cooler than other parts of Arizona so the fireplace makes sense even in the summer. It’s just lovely.
I would love to travel back to Flagstaff in the winter! I think it would be even better.
The hotel is nicely located right in the middle to town. You could walk to restaurants nearby but there is one located in the hotel also.
How can we talk about the DoubleTree and not talk about the cookies? Is it crazy that if I’m trying to decide between a DoubleTree or another comparable hotel the DoubleTree always wins because of the cookies?! I just like the cookies, it’s a nice little treat!
The room was very nice with warm colors throughout.
I have a pet peeve when I travel, well actually I have many but I’ll share this one for now. I can’t stand when the desk chair does not neatly slide underneath the desk because of the arm height. Notice above that the chair neatly tucks under the desk. If the chair does not do that then it blocks the walkway and is very irritating. So, thank you DoubleTree for getting that right! I appreciate it!
Look at that nice view. There was a train that would come through town way off to the left of the hotel. You couldn’t hear it but you could see it wind through the mountains and it was fun to look at!
The bath products were nice!
If you are traveling to Flagstaff I would certainly recommend staying at the DoubleTree! We left Flagstaff and continued our road trip to the Grand Canyon and to the Four Corners!
