We recently traveled to the Dominican Republic to enjoy some of the resorts.  We stayed three nights at Excellence El Carmen.  The resort is absolutely wonderful from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.  Trust me, it’s hard to leave!

You are greeted with fresh flowers, friendly faces, refreshing towels and a glass of champagne.

The check-in process in seamless and quick.  The lobby is amazing with a great bar on the lower level.

The resort property is so beautiful.  Everything is very clean and well maintained.  The resort is large but not too large that it’s not easily accessible.  You may even encounter the flamingos!

We stayed in a junior swim-up suite.  To sum it up it was divine.  I want to move in and have my mail forwarded there immediately.

Take note of the lovely sites in this photo.  A walk-out deck with loungers and two bed options because you know one bed option on your own private tropical deck is just not nearly enough!  The pool is only shared with four other rooms but I swear we never saw anyone else in the pool so I’m just going to pretend it was all ours!  It took me a full day to notice the loungers across the pool that were just for us also!  So, if the sun is on your deck and you are in the mood for shade you can just swim across to them! Other lovely sites to take in are the jacuzzi and the bar.  The jacuzzi is also private and you can swim to the other side and to the bar.  It is the building you can see, the room is literally steps from it.  However, if that is too far premium liquor is also well stocked in your own room.  Off in the distance you can catch a glimpse of the ocean also.  We were in building five.  We also had a room in building four that was equally as nice!

There is also a jacuzzi tub in the room that overlooks the deck.  There are shades to pull down if you want privacy.

The rest of the room was also amazing with nice details.  For example, the digital thermostat that is reachable from the bed.  USB ports and plenty of outlets are placed throughout the room.

The sofa, chair and coffee table are just my style.  Very mid-century modern and sleek.

The bathroom is large and very nice.

The desk area is very nice with premium liquor and the refrigerator is stocked with plenty of snacks, beer, water, and sodas.

I love the tile work around the jacuzzi!

The closet is very spacious. The safe is in the closet along with robes, extra blankets and an umbrella.

This is another category of room with it’s own private pool.

There are great sitting areas throughout the property.  Also, there is a bulletin of daily activities.

Outdoor pool tables and ping pong tables!  This is near the food truck!

This is the theatre where they have nightly shows.  We went to three shows and they were all very good.

This roof-top lounge is great!  It overlooks the pool and has an amazing view of the beach.

The resort at night is wonderfully lit!

Of course, the beach and pool area is amazing!

We tried as many restaurants as we could in the short amount of time that we were there.   We never had a wait and we enjoyed all of the restaurants.
