We spent the weekend in Helen, Georgia. We planned the trip around a car show as usual but we stayed the weekend so we would have time to raft down the Chattahoochee River.
As always, I researched my hotel options like it’s my full-time job. I decided to stay at the Hampton Inn on Unicoi Street. The hotel is perfectly located right in town so it’s completely walkable to everything. Unicoi Street is one block off the main road in Helen so it is quiet.
The hotel backs up to the Chattahoochee River so you can sit on the benches and watch the rafters go by. This is amazingly entertaining. There are also picnic tables by the river. Saturday night there was a family that had a little campfire going by the river. Kinda cool.
The hotel has three levels, these pictures were taken from our third floor balcony.
My daughter and I spent some time at the pool while the guys were at the car show.
The employees of the hotel were super nice and helpful. My daughter scraped her mouth on the bottom of the pool, they got a bag and some ice for her. I didn’t even ask before the nice lady was already going to get some. Very nice.
The lobby is nice. I’m sure the fireplace is much more welcoming in the winter months!
Our room had two double beds and was plenty big for four of us. The balcony was nice and had a few chairs outside.
If you are headed to Helen to enjoy the river or the mountain fun I think you would like the location and affordability of the Hampton Inn. We would love to plan your trip to Helen. Please contact us at: fabulousindeedvacations@gmail.com
