A couple months ago, I was asked to go to Orlando for work and I was excited to go! I was actually able to fly with a great friend and so I have two rooms to show you. I was amazed at how different they were. We stayed at the Doubletree Orlando at Sea World. By a title like that you might think to see Shamu swimming around, but you don’t.
The Rooms
I was able to see two different rooms. My coworker had a room around the property and I had a room in the Tower. I have to say that my coworker’s room was a lot nicer, though apparently, mine was newer.
If memory serves me correctly, her room was in Building six on the far right of this map. She ended up not liking the location because it was literally on the other side of the fence to the pool and hot tub. So, she said it was really loud at night when people were in the tub and pool.
My room wasn’t ready when we arrived, so Angela and I went and found her room and I was able to leave my stuff in her room.
Her room had a nice little sitting area.
She had a King bed.
One very cool feature in her room, was that slatted door actually slid (like a barn door) and closed off the bathroom. I think that is GENIUS!
Here it is closed off. You can see the closet is over there too.
Speaking of the bathroom, it was very nice.
The Tower Room that I had was in a more convenient location to all of the meeting space but really wasn’t as nice. The Tower is almost in the middle of this photo behind the main lobby building.
I had two doubles, which wasn’t what was requested.
I had no cool sliding barn door to close off the bathroom.
I assume that the rooms in all of the buildings other than the Tower are the same, but I don’t KNOW that. If I were to ever stay here again, I would request one of the other rooms.
Dining
When you arrive at this property, you are told about all of the different dining options. It turns out all of the restaurants are really the same, though with the different names, you think there are several. It really is different entrances to basically the same restaurant space.
We did eat specifically at Laguna a couple of times this trip, and it was good. We did leave the property for a few meals, and I will review those in other posts.
Conference Space
The conference spaces at this property are great. There are so many different spaces and options for the type of meetings you could have.
Leisure
There is a ton to do around the property. There are two pools, mini gold, hammocks, chess, and ping pong. I didn’t experience any of those things! I did however benefit from tons of walking, I would average 15,000 steps everyday when there – and that was with sitting in meetings all day!
Final thoughts
This is a great property. It is very family friendly. It is clearly close to SeaWorld, though I didn’t have time to get there on this trip. It is great for conferences and business meetings. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. You also can’t forget, you get warm cookies at check in!
