We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn El Paso University on our trip across America!  On this particular day we had driven from Houston which is over 750 miles!  On that drive through South Texas there isn’t much to see so we were very happy to enter El Paso!  The hotel is located at 111 West University Avenue, El Paso, TX 79902.

We checked in the previous day using the Hilton app.  The app is fabulous, you can even pick your room!  We picked the 5th floor on the front right hand corner.  This hotel does not have the digital room key so we just stopped by the front desk and picked up the keys.

The lobby is beautiful.  There are places to relax by the fireplace, conversation areas, and places to eat.  There is a beautiful patio outside.

We picked this particular room because it looked larger on the floor plan and it certainly was bigger!  There was a huge foyer area.

There wasn’t anything in it but it was still nice to have.  I guess if you had a lot of baggage it would be nice to put it there out-of-the-way.

I thought it would be nice to move the desk to that area and out of the regular room.

The room itself was very spacious and it was the first Hilton I have stayed in with wood floors.  I wish more hotels would change the flooring to wood or wood laminate.  It feels much cleaner than carpet and it looks nice also.

There was still carpet tiles underneath the bed area but I think wood flooring there would be nice also!

From the room we could see Mexico!  Also the hotel is right at the entrance of The University of Texas at El Paso.
